The Amalgamated Transit Union is the largest labour organization representing transit workers in Canada and the United States. Founded in 1892, the ATU is currently comprised of over 190,000 members in 264 local unions spread across 9 provinces and 44 states. Composed of bus drivers, station attendants, transit safety, light rail operators, maintenance, office, technical, financial and professional personnel, and other transit and municipal employees. The ATU works to promote transit issues and fights for the interests of its hard-working members.


The ATU can be found in most major cities of Canada and the United States.
